Digital Communication Upgrade for the Modular Configurable NEVO 600/1200W
The reliable, power dense and class leading configurable power supplies are now available with the enhanced functionality to digitally control and monitor each output card via PMBus.
The new output cards simply accommodate the same slots as the old cards with no changes to the 600W or 1200W front end modules, offering sleek and convenient comms enhancement:
OP1D: 0V-7.5V, 25A, 125W
OP2D: 0V-15V, 15A, 150W
OP3D: 0V-30V, 7.5A, 150W
OP4D: 0V-58V, 3.75A, 150W
OPA2D: 0V-15V, 25A, 300W
OPA3D: 0V-30V, 15A, 300W
They are completely reverse compatible with the same electrical specifications including the original I/O features: sense lines, voltage control, current control/monitoring/current share and the 5V bias supply. The only feature that has been removed is the potentiometer for voltage setting, but since the cards are digitally set, this will no longer be required!
The new digital interface allows for accurate monitoring of voltage, current, power, temperature, faults and warnings. Also permits control of voltage setting, current limit and warning thresholds.

Output cards can be split into zones to achieve simultaneous commands to a group of rails such that they all change state at the same instance, for example when cards are paralleled and all voltages must change at the same time.
Settings can be stored into non volatile memory to achieve a known start up condition on power up every time.
Improved reverse current protection allows direct connection to batteries or other external power sources. This could be useful for added protection in regenerating motor operation quadrants or starting up into live rails without discharging them.
For speedy setup or for simplifying integration and commissioning a development kit is available to rapidly take control and program the cards in a multitude of ways:
Web interface: A browser based environment enables the user to very quickly control and monitor all the cards utilising the quick set up feature and data logger. This can be utilised to commission exportable setup files that can be pre-loaded into your configuration at the factory so your NEVO arrives ready for installation pre-configured.
SCPI via VISA: For automated test and software-driven workflows, the DevKit includes a SCPI interpreter and supports VISA-based communication over USBTMC and TCPIP. This makes it well suited to ATE setups, scripted test environments and lab automation.
SCPI via REST API: The DevKit can accept SCPI commands via a REST API, giving developers a practical route for software integration and access to control and query functions using the same SCPI command set.
Direct PMBus access: For engineers working closer to the protocol level, the DevKit also supports direct PMBus access for development, debugging and deeper integration work.

The dev kit breaks out the analogue control features in to separate headers. It also crucially includes a Mikroe expansion slot for expansion boards that can expand communications to any number of chosen protocols.
