450W Compact GaN External Medical & ITE Power Supply

Thermal and safety management of power converters is always an unwanted drain on product development when there are so many other challenges that design engineers face. Moving the power supply externally to the product results in a quicker and easier route to market. With the power supply external to the product, no waste heat needs to be managed and all connections to and from the power converter are safely designed, assured by the certifications of the complete power product. For medical devices the 2 x MOPP isolation is handled completely in a certified separate entity and likewise for ‘62368-1 applications the safeguards are in place for ES3 protection.
This series is certified according to IEC/EN/ANSI/AAMI ES 60601-1, IEC/EN 60601-1-2, 4th edition for the GDM450 and IEC/EN/UL 62368-1 for the GDA450 to serve medical and industrial applications respectively. The product is also suitable to be used in body floating (BF) applied part medical devices, having the associated earth leakage and output isolation requirements. Despite the high power output the series boasts good EMC performance to the more stringent EN55011 level B for both conducted and radiated emissions and of course 4th edition EN60601-1-2 medical immunity requirements.
The family serves 4 voltage requirements between 12-56V offering short circuit, over voltage and over load protections. With international IEC approval for America, Europe (including UKCA), Singapore, Australia, New Zealand, Saudi Arabia, China, Japan and universal input, makes these units a great choice for worldwide markets.
