New MAC range from FiDUS Power 200-600W suitable for Medical Applied Parts

They are cost optimised, approved to IEC 60601-1 (BF rated), IEC 60601-1-2 and IEC 62368-1 for both medical and ITE applications.

The MAC450 and MAC200 series of compact, high efficiency power supplies, available in open frame or a range of enclosed formats deliver 250/140W when convection cooled and 450/200W fan cooled respectively. The MAC450 has an enclosed version with an integral fan for ease of integration.

The convection cooled ratings make these power supplies ideally suited to medical device applications, where audible noise is undesirable, and industrial or ITE applications where fan-less operation increases reliability and minimises dust ingress.

With efficiency levels up to 94/93%, MAC450/MAC200 power supplies minimise waste heat, reduce operational costs and save space. They operate at full rated power at ambient temperatures up to +50ºC without derating – and at 50% power at +70ºC. Peak load applications are supported up to 450/200W with convection cooling with average power up to 250/140W respectively.

MAC450 units start at a compact 3x5” footprint with a low 1.4” profile and have a universal input range for global use. Single output voltages 12V to 54V and 56V for POE applications. The MAC200 is in a 2x4” footprint, also 1.4” high, with outputs between 12V and 48V.

A number of mechanical configurations are available including fan-less units that are open frame or fitted with an optional vented cover (-C). Units with an integral fan have the option of either an end fan (-E) or a top fan (-T) to suit the airflow requirements of the end equipment with the choice of formats ensuring easy mechanical integration (MAC450 only). The open frame and vented cover (-C) units include a 12V, 600mA fan supply to power a remotely located cooling fan and all versions come with a 5V/1A standby supply (MAC450 only).

The MAC600 fanless, ultra compact, 95% efficient design, is ideal for applications where fan noise or the ingress of dirt is undesirable. Full power is achieved in 50ºC ambient at 100VAC. The unit comes in a robust U-channel mechanics of 8x5” with a hight of just 1.57”, complete with 5V / 1A stand by, remote on off and a 12V / 0.6A system fan rail for additional system cooling if required. The MAC600 is available in 12, 24, 36 or 48V.

The MAC products also conform to class C input current harmonics making them ideal for lighting and display applications too. As usual all products have a 5 year warranty and 3D drawings are available to download from our website for seamless integration.
